How to Remove GPS From Photos
Remove location metadata from photos before posting online, sending to buyers, or sharing with people you do not know well.
Why GPS metadata is sensitive
GPS coordinates can reveal where a photo was taken. That may expose a home address, workplace, school, hotel, private event, or travel pattern.
Safe workflow
Formats to check
JPG, JPEG, HEIC, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and other image formats may contain location or software metadata depending on the device and app that created them.
Important note
Removing GPS metadata does not blur visible landmarks, addresses, license plates, documents, faces, or map screenshots. Review the image itself before sharing.
